Introduction
This is a DMS How to document and details how to setup up deployment slots within a schedule group.
It is assumed the reader has knowledge of DMS and in particular how to use the DMS Console and Web portal.
Comms Portal
Create Slot List
Login to the web portal for the DMS instance you are working with.
Click on the “Comms Portal” tab.
Click “+ Add Entry”.
Name the entry (eg, Slot_names). (The name cannot contain spaces or special characters)
Click “List”.
Click “Add”.
Create Slots
With the newly created “Slot_names” list selected from the dropdown, click on “+ Add”.
Name the entry (eg Slot_1).
Click “Add”.
The new item will now be added to the list.
In the text pane to the right, type the name of the slot as you wish it to appear in the user portal and emails. (eg, Morning, 10am -12pm etc…)
Click “Save”.
Repeat the process to add more slots.
Console
Load up the DMS console.
Go to Setup.
Locate the Schedule Group you wish to assign the slots too, right click and select properties.
Under “Schedule Group Defaults” there is a section titled User Portal. Open the drop down list next to “Slots Comms” and select the previously created list.
Click “OK”.
Return to the home screen and add the Schedule Group to the dashboard using the “Dashboard setup”.
Click on properties.
Open the “Deployment Window” tab (Assuming end date is already set).
Enter the number of deployments to be completed each day under “Daily Run Rate”.
To create a slot you need to add a comma separated list of the slots to the “Deployment Slots” pane.
Click “Apply”
Click “Edit Deployment Window”.
Select the Start date and end date for the deployments.
The “Run Rate” will automatically be split between the slots, Based on the daily run rate. If you wish to change the split simply edit the values beside Run Rate. (note. A run rate of 4,5 will make 4 deployments available in the first slot and 5 in the second.)
Click “OK”.
